Sleeve budgets

A sleeve is one of the three buckets your account allocates across: equities, crypto, and cash. Sleeve budgets, set on Risk & Caps, define what share of the account each sleeve may use. You set the equities and crypto budgets directly; cash is whatever they leave over, and the three always add up to 100%.

How budgets apply

Budgets are enforced when SleeveFolio works out how large an order should be: a sleeve that’s already at budget — counting every position in it, including ones you bought by hand — doesn’t get new buys, regardless of how strong a signal ranks. The dashboard’s sleeve card checks your actual split against fixed default reference bands (equities 60–80% and crypto 10–30% of net asset value; cash is the remainder and has no band), reading each sleeve as in band, over band or under band, with a link to Risk & Caps where your own budgets live; the sleeve sliders here shade the same bands. Those reference bands are a general guide, not your configured budgets.

Running several strategies? Each strategy trades its own slice of the account (its allocation — split automatically by default, or set by hand on Settings → Strategies with auto-allocation off), and these budgets apply within each slice: a strategy allocated 40% of the account with a 20% crypto budget may put at most 20% of that slice into crypto. The account-wide budget still holds on top of that, and it counts everything you hold in a sleeve — positions you bought by hand included — so your strategies never stack a fresh sleeve on top of them, and the cash the budgets leave over stays a true reserve. Any percent you leave unallocated is a further cash reserve that is never traded — on top of whatever the cash budget leaves inside each slice.

Defaults

Every account gets a conservative default split at onboarding (previewed in the wizard’s Risk step). Adjust it anytime. Like all risk edits, sleeve changes collect into a pending-changes list you review and apply in one go: all together, or not at all.
