Apply or discard pending changes
Edits on Risk & Caps don’t save field-by-field. Every change you make collects into one pending batch of changes: a sleeve budget (a sleeve is a bucket of your account: stocks, crypto, or cash), a dollar cap, a position or sector cap, the drawdown de-risk threshold. The batch is counted in the header until you review, then apply or discard the whole thing. Three areas are the exception, saving outside the batch. The three switches under Advanced cap settings each save the moment you flip them, with a confirmation message. The Risk caps switch at the foot of the Order limits card (it turns enforcement of the per-trade cap, per-day cap, and max trades per day on or off for automated buys) saves on its own too: switching it off asks you to confirm first, switching it on saves at once, and the card’s dollar and count values still collect into the batch like everything else. The Strategy allocation card’s switch and allocation preference save immediately too; only its cash reserve floor (the share of your account that auto-allocation always keeps in cash) waits behind that card’s own small Apply and Discard buttons.
Why save everything together?
Because risk settings interact. Loosening a per-trade cap while tightening a sleeve budget is one coherent decision; saving them one keystroke at a time would let a half-edited state govern a signal run that happens to start mid-edit. Batching means your live limits move from one consistent state to another, never through the middle.
Review, apply, or discard
Review opens a read-only summary of exactly what changed (each edited limit’s saved value next to its proposed value) so you can confirm the whole batch before committing. Apply changes saves the whole batch in a single step, and the new limits govern the next order. Discard reverts the form to what’s saved. Leaving the page without applying keeps your saved limits untouched.
The risk questionnaire (Suggest my caps…, see Guided setup) works through this same batch: its Fill in as pending changes button puts the suggested values into the form as if you had typed them, the header counts them as pending changes, and Review, Apply changes, and Discard treat them exactly like hand edits. Nothing it suggests is saved until you press Apply changes.
The header’s ↓ Export and ↑ Import buttons work from your saved limits, so both are disabled while changes are pending; apply or discard first. An import applies through its own review, outside the batch. See Export & import your settings.
