Upgrade, downgrade, cancel

Billing lives under Settings → Billing, with checkout and payment management handled by Stripe.

Upgrading

Upgrade starts a Stripe checkout; your plan updates within moments of payment confirming. Your universe cap, how long your audit history is kept, your data budget, and your live-trading eligibility move up immediately.

Cancelling

Cancel from the billing page; you keep Pro through the period you’ve paid for, then drop to Free. Nothing you’ve paid for is taken back, and there’s no surprise cutoff mid-period.

What survives a downgrade

• Your broker account and positions — untouched, always; they live at Alpaca
• Live trading — turns off (Free is paper-only); your account flips back to paper
• A universe over 30 symbols — stops growing; trim it to edit within the Free cap
• Audit history — only the most recent 30 days stay available
