The event matrix

The matrix on the Notifications page crosses every event type with every channel. These are the events and their out-of-the-box defaults:

The pattern: the three safety events default fully on; informational events default to the in-app inbox; the digest is fully opt-in (see Digest emails). Every cell is yours to flip.
