Usage & rate budgets

SleeveFolio runs exclusively on free market-data sources (Tiingo, Alpaca IEX, SEC EDGAR, and friends), so there’s no per-user data bill and no paid data tier. Because free sources ration requests, SleeveFolio keeps data-source use modest behind the scenes, one signal run or backtest per account at a time, and a short cooldown between manual Run now and Run backtest requests, rather than billing you for lookups.

What uses the data sources

Work done on your behalf, signal runs fetching price history and company financials for your universe, backtests (trial runs of a strategy against past data), and quote lookups, all use the free data sources. A bigger universe makes each run heavier, which is why the universe size cap scales with your plan (30 symbols on Free, 200 on Pro). To keep that work from overwhelming the free sources, SleeveFolio runs one signal job or backtest per account at a time and enforces a brief cooldown between manual runs.

The Usage vs plan card

Settings → Billing → Usage vs plan shows how much of your plan’s limits you are using: universe symbols against your per-plan cap, plus a running count of backtests run. These are current totals, not a daily clock that resets. There is no paid data tier and no surprise data charges.
