SleeveFolio runs exclusively on free market-data sources — Stooq, Alpaca IEX, SEC EDGAR, FRED, and friends — so there’s no per-user data bill. The flip side: free sources ration requests, so each account gets a daily data budget — 50 data lookups on Free, 200 on Pro.
What consumes budget
Work done on your behalf: signal runs fetching price history and company financials for your universe, backtests (trial runs of a strategy against past data), quote lookups. A bigger universe burns more per run — that’s the real cost the budget reflects, and why the caps scale with tier.
The usage meters
Settings → Billing shows today’s consumption against your budget. At the limit, budget-consuming work simply waits for the daily reset — there is no paid data tier and no surprise data charges.
